The
Mojito originated in Cuba in the early 1900’s. Its popularity with
Havana's A-List made fresh mint beyond just a cocktail garnish and put
it in the realm of a necessary component. A blend of sugar, mint leaves,
lime juice, rum, ice and soda water (in that order); a Mojito is an effervescent
cocktail with bubbles and greenery, garnished with a sprig of mint on
top. Feel free to chew on the mint leaves after you've finished your drink
and you will notice one of the Mojito's most endearing qualities and its
only liability; fresh, minty breath… but look out for mint leaves
in your teeth. |
