O-BAR Restaurant will join forces with The Make-A-Wish Foundation, as two of California's premier Wineries 'battle to make wishes come true.' Sterling and Coppola Wineries have each stepped up to battle, pairing their best wines with a specially prepared dinner. Our chef will present the menu in advance to each winery, with each then given the task to present their chosen accompaniments 'blindly' to diners, explaining why their choices were made, as well as why their choice is the better selection. Diners will then 'judge' each course on 'scorecards,' all taking place in the comic guise of a boxing match. In addition to an entertaining 'battle' between the representatives from each winery, diners will be presented with tasting notes on each of the wines served, as well as gifts throughout the evening from participating business sponsors. In pairing with The Make-A-Wish Foundation, O-BAR hopes to begin a series of opportunities that will provide not only an evening of enlightened dining for its guests, but will also provide an opportunity for the restaurant to continue supporting its local community. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation. |
